I’m New Here
Welcome! We’d love to have you join us for our Sunday Worship Gathering, but if you’re not able to be with us in person you can join the Livestream Sunday at 10am on our YouTube channel. If you are new to God or to the church and would like to connect with us, please fill out our CONNECTION CARD and someone will reach out and let you know what to expect on your first visit.
What should I expect on Sunday?
Contemporary Worship. Relevant Messages. Vibrant Programs. Authentic People.
We’re excited that you’re considering joining us on Sunday mornings. We’re a group of real people gathered to seek after a real God because we believe that in Him there is real hope. You’ll find our meetings contemporary, upbeat, down-to-earth, and serious about worshiping God. Our music is lively with lyrics that honor God. We’re gathered to worship God in unity, but we also give you freedom to sing, stand, sit, or raise your hands as you’re led. The morning message is always grounded in God’s Word and relevant to our everyday lives.
Where? & Wear?
We meet at the Southern York County YMCA located on 100 Constitution Avenue, just off the Susquehanna Trail (Why the Y?). Our worship service starts at 10:00 a.m., but you’re invited to come at 9:45 a.m. to have a cup of coffee and meet some people. Please wear whatever you’re comfortable in; but if you wear a tie, you’ll probably upstage the pastor!
What About My Children?
Children are an important part of who we are, and we’re glad to have them with us. Our nursery staff is available to care for children under 2 during the entire service. If you’d rather keep them with you, that’s fine too. The rest of the kids join the beginning of the service before going to classes. It can be a challenge, but we think having children worship with us is pleasing to God. They have a great time in their classes making crafts, playing games, and learning about God. The junior and senior high teens stay with us for the entire service – and even manage to get something out of it!
For the safety of your children, all Elders, Deacons, Staff, Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry volunteers are required to obtain clearances and background checks, including the FBI Background Check (with required fingerprinting) Criminal History Record check, and the PA Child Abuse Clearance and they must keep these in good standing throughout their time of service.
Sunday School Check In, Dismissal & Pick Up
All children must be pre-registered at a check-in Kiosk before heading back to class. We have greeters to help you with this when you enter the building or you can complete the pre-registration at home and just stop by the kiosk to print labels (if needed) when you arrive. All children ages 0-3 years are required to wear a security nametag on their back that matches your parent security tag. Both tags will print at the kiosk when you arrive. Parent tags are required for pickup.
After worship, children ages 2- 6th grade are dismissed to meet their teachers at the back of the sanctuary under their colored grade signs. Teachers will escort children back to their classes. After the service, you’ll pick up your children at their classrooms.
If you have additional questions about children on Sundays at LHC, please reach out to email@example.com.
