Living Hope Church is having a baptism. Baptism is for any child, teen or adult that has confessed Jesus Christ as his/her Savior and is committed to following Him. If you have never been baptized (or were baptized as an infant), please read the verses below and prayerfully consider participating. If you, or your child, feels ready to take this exciting and life-changing step in your Christian life, please speak with the Elders to arrange an informal interview.
What is Baptism? Are you ready?
- Baptism is an outward response to our inner faith in Christ.
Acts 2:41 – “So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.”
Acts 8:12 – “But when they believed Philip preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, men and women alike.”
- Baptism is a sign of our spiritual union with Christ in His burial and resurrection.
Romans 6:3-4 – “Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.”
Colossians 2:12 – “…having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.”
- Baptism is our public entrance into the Christian faith – a public expression of our personal conversion.
Matthew 28:18-19 – “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit…’”
Galatians 3:27 – “For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”
